We offer a variety of workshops for beginners or improvers. We use highly experienced tutors from Rowan who are experienced in knitting, crochet, sewing and soft furnishings. The aim is for our workshops to be inspirational and fun, a day to learn new skills that will give the participants the confidence to create their own projects and enjoy a new craft.

Cancellation Policy:
Refund for cancellations of workshops can only be made if the space is successfully resold. Please note that it can be very difficult to resell a space for a cancellation made close to the date of the class and very unlikely when cancelled on the day itself. Please check your availability before booking. In the unlikely event of cancellation by us, a full refund will be made.
This workshop is a complete beginners guide to crochet. You will be shown how to hold the hook and yarn, make a foundation chain and master two basic stitches, double and treble crochet. It will give you the skills to start a small crochet project.

For this workshop you would need to have basic crochet knowledge. You will learn how to shape your work by increasing and decreasing whether working in rows or in the round. We will also look at some simple decorative edges.

On this workshop you will learn to hold your needles and tension your yarn, to cast on and off and to work the knit and purl stitch. This will give you the skills to start a simple knitting project. This is a half day course.

This workshop will look at the techniques needed to help give your garment that professional finish. For example, sewing pieces together, buttonholes and picking up stitches, are just a few of the techniques worked during the course. As you will also see throughout the day, it is not just what is done to the pieces of knitting after they are knitted, there are lots of things that can be done along the way that will also help to achieve a more professional look.

This course aims to help those knitters who may be daunted by the traditional ways of knitting with colour such as Fairisle and Intarsia. All the techniques covered in this workshop use just ONE colour per row & create amazing patterns!
We cover basic colourwork with stripes, slip stitch techniques, the 'Mosaic' technique first introduced by Barbara Walker and a simple but effective 'woven look' technique. Reading colour charts is also covered.
